Additional The 6 Sacred Stones: A Novel Information

THE END OF THE WORLD IS HERE

After their thrilling exploits in Matthew Reilly's rampaging New York Times bestseller, 7 Deadly Wonders, supersoldier Jack West Jr. and his loyal team of adventurers are back, and now they face an all-but-impossible challenge.

A mysterious ceremony in an unknown location has triggered a catastrophic countdown that will climax in no less than the end of all life on Earth. But Jack and his team might be able to ward off the coming Armageddon if they can find the fabled Six Sacred Stones, which hold clues to a legendary ancient device long lost in the fog of history. As the hunt begins, Jack and his team discover that they are not the only ones seeking the Stones...and that there might just be other players out there who don't want to see the world saved at all.

From Stonehenge in England to the deserts of Egypt to the spectacular Three Gorges region in China, The 6 Sacred Stones will take you on a nonstop rollercoaster ride through ancient history, modern military hardware, and some of the fastest and most mind-blowing action you will ever hear.

What Customers Say About The 6 Sacred Stones: A Novel:

The lack of an ending was totally insulting to the reader. I skipped ahead because I was curious how he would wrap up such a bad story. Apparently he had no idea. I would not give this 1 star, but that was not an option. Matthew Reilly does not care about his audience or his characters or how to write well. It is the last time. This is the first time I have read Matthew Reilly. The "plot" is lame, the action so over the top it became annoying and idiotic and I learned to hate "call signs".

Maybe ,just maybe I will read more Matthew Reilly Loved it. Purchased this book for my brother. Not my type of book at ALL.Anyway picked it up one day and never put it down.

It did drag in a few places and could maybe have been shortened up. He happens to have custody of a little girl who happens to be able to read ancient scripts. Don't let that scare you as it works just fine if you have not yet read SDW. The author certainly throws a lot of action into one book and this is only the first half of the story, with another book to follow to complete the story. I hadn't. He happens to have a seemingly endless supply of decked out vehicles. However, I have now picked up SDW and have started working my way through what I anticipate to be an equally action packed story.

As another reviewer commented "wildly implausible, but extremely fun to read". Note that this is a sequel to Reilly's Seven Deadly Wonders and the storyline and characters from SDW are referenced frequently. The list goes on and on.This IS a really fun read if you let yourself go with the flow and don't fret about the reality of it all. The hero just happens to have a plane, and then just happens to have fireman's helmets fixed up with life saving gimmicks. And he happens to have a brother-in-law who happens to have a submarine.

This book was a fun read for me. And she happens to have a little friend who's a math and astronomy whiz. He also happens to have a "farm" in Kenya that happens to have replacement engines for his plane and a storage of fuel. The storyline is packed with action however and it's almost like Reilly took all the action from every Bond and Indiana Jones film and every McGyver show and packed it all into this one book. He happens to be a former military special ops guy, but also has a history education so that he know every historical poem and riddle out there and for the ones he happens not to know, he has a mentor that knows the rest.

This would make an excellent adventure movie for high school boys who like this sort of tale. Just not my cup of tea usually, but I became engrossed in the book & hit my second disappointment when the book suddenly ends mid-story. I found many of the circumstances resolved unreasonably - characters pull out oddball implements, seemingly from thin air, to save themselves, and perform physical activities which even the lamest of minds will have a difficult time accepting. I must admit up-front that I was disappointed with this book in that it is now what I expected. Basically, it is the story about magical stones through history and how the Earth may end unless an ancient rite is performed (again) within the next year.

From the get go things move along at a frantic pace, cough and you might miss something. Our heroes are searching for the six pillars. You have to pay attention with this book, but it's all fun.Like I have said before.Indiana Jones.

Robert Langdon. james Bond.

The only reason I can think of for Reilly's books to get slammed is people want realism. Of course, but how they get these mythical wonders is a pure literary treat.

Give me Jack West, Jr anyday. They want to believe that what they are reading could actually happen, that there is some truth to what they hold in their hands, I mean what other reason would people have for slamming such outlandish fun. This book is a continuation of "7 Deadly Wonders." We are introduced to some new characters, and tons of action.

Do they find them.
